Ayana Mack: I love seeing little kids dressed up as mini cowboys and cowgirls. Here’s a pic of my daughter ;-) Manny: I’ve never been to the Houston Rodeo, but I think it’ll finally make me a Houstonian. Coppelia: But Manny, are you sure you’re not gonna let your son do Mutton Bustin next year??? Manny: NO! Definitely not! I saw a video after you told me about it. It’s not gonna happen.

Y’all! I moved to Houston in 2011 and the first time I heard people make a big deal about the “Rodeo” I was like, why are people making such a big deal about a rodeo? UM, because it’s HUGE!!! I had no idea! Since then, I’ve actually gotten to ride in a wagon with actual trail riders and legit cowboys (Google it. It’s a thing.) If I’m honest, I feared for my life. Highways are NOT made for open air wagons, people!!! Lol! I also got to join my friend from NGEN’s sister station KSBJ, Joey K, and old NGEN friends Carlos and Brittany, at the Gold Buckle Foodie Awards. We were judges and had to eat a TON of Rodeo food. (Yeah, that's also a thing. Haha!) My favorite rodeo food was a TEXAS-SIZED cinnamon roll with BACON throughout the WHOLE THING! Yum! (Side note: for NGEN fans who remember Carlos, he's now back in H-town on the KSBJ Afternoon Show! Welcome back, man!) The Rodeo also has a CARNIVAL! Fun houses, bumper cars and cotton candy, oh my! My frugal friend, Maria, invited me, so we took our kids and everyone had a BLAST! It’s pricey, but if you can go on Value Wednesdays, you save a little bit (and if I remember correctly, kids can get in FREE!). Bottom line: there are a TON of things to enjoy at the Rodeo and it only comes once a year, so we might as well enjoy it! :) Chris Chicago from The NGEN Afternoon Show Might be simple, but I absolutely love that one of America's historic Dome stadiums is the back drop of the midway. I love the live music, the overwhelming amount of assorted fried foods, the mutton bustin', the beautiful cows (!!!!) Last year I was able to model in the Rodeo Runway representing Boot Barn and it was incredible! For a girl from Ohio, I love the rodeo and all things Texas!
