The storms of life - both figurative and literal - impact lives on a daily basis. With the latest news and tragedy coming from the Texas floodings including Camp Mystic; hearts have poured out with compassion and empathy. One question may arise: What can I do?

Here are 3 real ways to take action and help bring Hope through the storm: Pray, Trust & Serve

 

1. Pray
This is not just the Christian-eze answer but a real way to take a faithful approach to devastating disasters - because we believe prayer is powerful and changes things. 

I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
    where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
    the Maker of heaven and earth

- Psalm 121:1-2 

2. Trust
When uncertainty comes, we must choose to trust that God is still good, still present with us, and still working.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.

- Proverbs 3:5-6

3. Serve
Even simple acts of service like donating, helping, or listening can be powerful ways to bring light into someone’s storm.

Serve one another humbly in love.

- Galatians 5:13

You may not be able to do everything, but your empathy and faith can still make a difference.
