Why Black History Month is Important
Posted 2 weeks ago - Jan 31, 2025
From: RaJan MonroeAs believers, we’re called to love, to listen, and to stand for justice. This month, let’s celebrate, reflect, and commit to carrying the light of hope and equality into every day.
MORE THAN A HISTORY LESSON
Black History Month is more than just looking back—it’s about rediscovering a legacy of resilience, hope, innovation, and dreams that continue shaping the world today. It’s a celebration of those who’ve changed history through grit, determination, and faith—proving that progress is possible, even when doubt is everywhere.
MORE THAN A CELEBRATION
But let’s be real—it’s also a call to action. The fight for equality and justice isn’t over, and this month is a reminder to have real conversations about systemic barriers, representation, and making sure everybody’s story is told.
MORE THAN A MONTH
It’s not just about the past—it’s about fueling the future. Black History Month is a moment to refocus on equality, justice, and love. So let’s level up, learn the lessons, and keep pushing forward. Because the truth is… Black history is history, and it deserves to be honored every day.
PRAY THIS WITH ME...
Father God, thank You for where we are, where we've come from, and where You are leading us. This month, help us see Your hand of deliverance and love throughout our history and in our present as You are the One who has shaped our future. Thank You for culture and diversity as all people are expressions of Your creation. Thank You for true justice and real love found only in Your Word and perfect grace. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
