Houston is SO RIDICULOUSLY HOT in the SUMMER, we figured we might need a little help to find ways to really enjoy it! So we asked the NGEN DJs to see what they love about summer in Houston and here’s what they shared. Check it out! AYANA MACK The thing I enjoy most about summer is counting down the days until it will not be summer. I also enjoy finding air conditioning in various places such as my car, home or public buildings. I like to go swimming in the summertime, but I often don't because it would require me to leave the A/C in my home.  MANNY One of the best things about summer in Houston is the time I get to spend with my family at the local park, trying to lose some of these unwanted pounds. It’s hot in Houston so the pounds come off quicker. Right after I have a snow cone. HAHA! COPPELIA I’m with Ayana on this one: counting down the days till the END of summer! Haha! But I have to say, there are a few things about Houston in the summer that I have come to love. Especially if you have kids, there are movie nights at the park (Discovery Green is a fave)! CHRIS CHICAGO Summer road trips in and around Houston are the best!  We have some great destinations all within just a few hours' drive from us here in H-Town!  With Bucc-ee's along the way, you’re guaranteed for a great day. You got beaches, zoos, waterfalls, the Alamo and, of course, any kind of foodie spot you want to experience! ANGELA (aka Lil Ang!) I love spending time with our summer interns and going on weekend road trips to different places around Houston - whether that's downtown or to one of the cool small towns within a two-hours drive of us. Fourth of July festivities are also always a highlight - I love to bake a cake and light sparklers. I have tons of summer traditions - but mostly just getting out of the city for a bit and exploring is my favorite! REYNA REYNA To save on electricity, we turn off the A/C and go walk around large shopping centers/the mall. KENT MATTHEWS One thing I love about summer is blueberry picking at Moorhead’s Blueberry Farm in Conroe! The humidity is like a warm hug from an old friend.
