Ready or not, Thanksgiving is done and we are “officially” in a season of celebration! But what can you do when you don’t quite feel like celebrating? The holidays can be tough for a lot of people.
Our nation is remembering and honoring Former President George H.W. Bush who recently passed away. We can imagine this will be a rough season for their family and close loved ones.
You may have also heard that Oprah recently lost her mom and three soldiers lost their lives in Afghanistan. There may be someone you’ re missing this year that will make it hard to feel like you want to celebrate. Or you might still be waiting for a situation to turn around, but it hasn’t. The good news is that there is Good News!
We’re not going to sugar coat it (because we don’t do that here on NGEN Radio!) You can ask any of the NGEN DJs and they can tell you about times when life has been hard, but God has gotten them through. We honestly believe, no matter what you are going through, God can get you through it, too.
First, if you’ve never decided to follow Jesus, this is the perfect time! The heart of Christmas is celebrating that God sent his son Jesus to save us. Decide that you want to give your life to him today. He’s got so much in store for you!
This is a great place to start.
Second, share with a friend. We’re quick to assume everyone’s ok. If you’re not feeling ok, share it with a family or friend. They might have had no idea – and you might find the help you need right there.
Third, look for volunteer opportunities at your church or in your community! Many times, serving and loving others is exactly what we’ve been missing. God’s word reminds us to “give and it will be given to you!”
And we’d love to pray for you! You can call our prayer line at 281-446-5725 or email DJ@NGENRadio.com.
We pray you have the most wonderful Christmas … even if you’re not quite feeling it yet!
