HOUSTON -- If you were part of the 28th Annual AIDS Walk Houston, know as the "Red Umbrella Stroll", props to you! Sure it's been rainy, but that surely didn't stop Mayor Turner and other Houstonians from showing up to help make a difference.
"As long as there is one person infected by HIV/AIDS we are all impacted," said Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner.
The 5K walk supports almost 30,000 Houstonians currently living with HIV/AIDS. The funds participants raise benefit 10 local HIV/AIDS services organizations that provide individuals with education, pediatric programs, housing, food, medical care, counseling and job training.
