Grammy-winning rapper Lecrae has released a new provocative song for the film The Shack, starring Octavia Spencer and Sam Worthington.
The film, based on the New York Times best-selling book of the same name, sees Worthington struggling with grief over the loss of his daughter. He returns to the shack where she may have been murdered, only to be met by God, played by Octavia Spencer.
When talking about the film he states, "It really challenged me in a way because it made me think about my own relationship with my father and some of the unique struggles I have there and how self-righteous you can be in those situations."
He sums it up by saying,
"I think the take away for people listening to the song is that none of us are perfect and we kind of have to drop this guard of self-righteousness and say 'This is who I am. These are my flaws and if God can accept me, then other people should as well.'"
