"Every once in a while you get the chance to do something that feels much bigger and more important than you, something that scares you because the stakes are so high. Maybe that’s why so many of us love superheroes. Because they’re often regular people faced with the promise and peril of something enormous. I’m definitely not a superhero. But I am a regular person with an uncanny chance to do something that feels bigger than me. And I’m trying to fly into it, head on."
Eve Ewing, a Chicago-native, writer and woman of color, has had the life long dream of writing for Marvel Comics. Well, as of yesterday her dream became a reality. So first-off, congrats Eve!
But more amazing than a writer obtaining a dream, is the incredible project Eve gets to be a part of. Starting in November, she will be writing a new series called Riri Williams: Ironheart. It's about Tony Stark's young protege who designs her own Iron Man armor and follows her adventures of saving the world. Not only does the series sound awesome, but Riri also joins the small, yet growing family of superheroes of color.
And who knows, hopefully a movie will be next!? You can read more info here.
