This week, Disney announced that it is using facial recognition software to track moviegoers' facial expressions.
When you laugh, it will be recorded. When you shed a tear at just the right moment, it's recorded. Disney, and other huge entertainment brands like it, want to make sure audiences are reacting the way they're supposed to scenes they put millions of dollars into creating.
There are a lot of nerdy, sciency details to how this all works, but this use of artificial intelligence gives an interesting clue into what the future of the entertainment industry might look like.
